I AM FEELING FINE

A tree fell in our way. Ferns cascade down either side of the valley. I can hear the sound of bells echoing between the walls. We follow the trail near the stream

We’ve wanted to take this trip for a long time

We whisper to each other while we tiptoe through the moss and scrub and we find tiny strawberries growing in the bushes

Try not disturb the fish

We snap dead limbs off the
tree trunks and drag them
along forest floor

The sun moves behind a mountain and we find a place to make a fire. I can feel my breath on the inside of my skull. I'm nowhere and you're with me and I love you

We set out again to walk along the water's edge, listening to every sound coming from the woods

We're circling each other in perfect balance while I'm half way between here and nowhere
